working hard...or hardly working!

So the Over The Top Fashion Swap is not too far away...and I've been working almost super hard.... it is very difficult to do some sewing when it is so beautiful outside, when I have so little time to myself to work on my sewing. BUT I am trying some new stuff, new designs, dying some fabric with tea or just plain chemical stuff!

It should be a great event to go to so I definitely recommend that you make your way over there! If you can't participate in the actual swap then I suggest you come and say hello to all the wonderful vendors that are gonna be out there!

First Spring Show!

.fossettes. will be at its first spring craft show!

Ally & Cory are putting on a fabulous new event with the concept of swapping your gently used clothing for new (to you) outfits!

There will be local artisans and a spa upstairs at the Winspear Centre on May 29th 2010. Here is the link and all of the info. It should be a really great day. There will also be the Make It Show that weekend so I strongly suggest that you head to the Over The Top Fashion Swap to bring in your no longer loved fashions, choose some new ones, pick up some jewellery (my mom will be doing her first show - YAY!), come say hi to .fossettes., head to the downtown market and then to Make It!

Spring has Sprung!!!

I L O V E this time of year when the sun is shining upon our lovely faces warming up our skin and bones, the birds are chirping in the background and kids are riding their bikes on the street. Mother nature has finally delivered her spring promise.

And now its my turn to deliver my spring promise of getting into that sewing room and get back to it!!!! I have a couple of ideas going through my head and would really love to apply my fascination with dying fabrics this season, applying some silk screening.....which I realize I have been talking about for a while BUT just this weekend I was actually dipping my fingers in some beautiful bright blue shimmery paint.... I have not tried the whole photo emulsion process quite yet - its a little more elaborate and well it requires time and patience which I will have soon I hope!!!!

So heres to SPRING and the rebirth of new things, the greener grass and the laughter in the sunshine.... and some hopefully soon to be wicked silk screening. Ill keep you all posted with pictures.

Jacqueline is A-OK

.fossettes.' little model underwent cardio surgery last Wednesday for her aortic coarctation (which means her aorta is narrowing), which she is now all fixed after her operation. and now she is doing much better! so happy to see her smiley face again and having energy!

YAY Jacqueline! better get ready for more photoshoots :)

January is just about over...

... for once it wasn't such a blah month! .fossettes. was keeping busy with sales, photoshoot, future plans, and fresh new creative ideas flowing....

Lets hope theres much more to come for the year!

silk screening in progress

woohoo! just got a silk screen...! cant wait to start playing around with it and creating some fun designs on scarves and maybe perhaps start making apparel.....

2010!

Happy New Year everyone!

2010 is going to be a great year... I have a good feeling about it.

Here at .fossettes. we have big plans: more scarves, more etsy posts and possibly more then just accessories.
